Lisa J. Marshall has the following solutions:
Concrete Steps
- Meet with staff: discuss no lights, ATMs, elevators, food, planes, trains, and some cars
- Pass out materials from Year2000.com about business partners and suppliers unable to work in Y2K
- Check building: elevators, sturdy generators (to last months) and security without power
- Check plans and budget: divert to Y2K efforts?
- Check key infrastructure: utilities can ensure uninterrupted power and water, police and fire department have backup communications, phone service guaranteed, canned food in stores adequate
- Talk to all governments: have a plan if people don't get relief or pension checks, protect tax and real estate records, and prisons are secure
--Best Scenario:
- Systems crash but countries have contingency plans
- People pull together and are flexible
